Wildlife / Vegetation Mitigation and Monitoring Programs
Environmental Monitoring Programs can be defined as a continuing function that aims to provide managers and/or stakeholders with indications of progress, or lack thereof, in the achievement of results. Monitoring and evaluation are important management tools to track progress and facilitate decision making. Monitoring is an important tool that can be used to:
- Provide quantitative data to describe the condition of a resource
- Measure performance by documenting the response of a system to changes or management actions
- Allow for the verification of project impact predictions (e.g. EIA) or validation of assumptions
- Support adaptive management strategies (e.g. focus effort where it is needed)
